Happy 8 Month Birthday!

Dear Mylo, Eight months have come and you are growing into a big, handsome ornery boy. You have 3 sparkling teeth. You crawl on your hands and knees like you are going through trenches. You throw temper tantrums when we take away toys by waving your arms up and down and screaming. I wish you weren't so cute when you were doing this. You sleep in your crib in your own room now. If we could just get you to sleep through the night every night. Grandma Vickie had your pictures done and you have the biggest smile. Maybe you and Santa can be friends next year because you didn't give a fair chance this year. You call Micah Da Da. You try to sing yourself to sleep. You love being a Pop Pops during the week and miss him when he is gone. Your mohawk is still adorable. You are playing with your train that Auntie Ann sent you for Christmas that mommy opened early. I pray that you are healthy and happy. Love, Mom

Big Steps

I am so glad you are learning to crawl and walk in the same month. It really helps out on your baby book pages. Takes up less room! Love, Mom

Seventh Month Circuit

Dear Mylo, Happy 7th month birthday! I'd write all the things you can do now but it would be easier to tell you the things you can't such as: drive, swim or ride a bike. Oh, okay. You weight 19 lbs and 13 oz and are 28 1/4in long. You are making new sounds such as: f's, z's, and s's. You call your father Ba Ba. You like to race around the house in your walker. You start out in the living room and are in the bathroom before I turn around. You like green beans and pears. You've said: Ma Ma, Uh-oh, Pop Pop and Ba Ba inconsistently to who those names belongs. You've called stitch Ma Ma. You reach when you want held and pull on people's pants when you want picked up from the floor. Your smile is gorgeous and you are allergic to oatmeal. Some important events that have happended in your 7th month of life: The first african american president was elected, the economy is in a crisis and gas is back to $2.39, which it hasn't been in a year. I pray for your strength and courage to explore your new world. I pray for you to grow up and be a healthy, happy young man. I pray for your patience with your parents who both love you very much! All my love, Mommy

"Ma Ma"

Mylo said his first word. Actually it was sounds but once they were combined they made the word, "Ma Ma". I'm so glad I got that Reading Masters! His other first word is "Uh Oh". Mylo tried Peas today and seemed to enjoy the bland "greeness" of it all. His first fruit was applesauce. He makes the sourest face. He still only has 2 teeth and we haven't crawled yet but we are making progress.

Happy 6 Month Birthday, Mylo!

Dear Mylo,
I fell in love with you! I knew i loved you before but even more so now. You reach for me, pull my hair and give me the slimiest kisses. I will give you all the statistics now: You weigh 18 lbs and 6 oz with 27 and 3/4 inches tall. You have two teeth (bottom center). You've tried sweet potatoes and carrots, your favorite is carrots. You can sit up by yourself. You chew on your toes when i change your diaper. When you are teething, you chew on a wet wash cloth. You might have said your first word "red" but i didn't hear it so it doesn't count (Quinten). You laugh when Daddy hangs you upside down by your ankles, sounds bad but you really do laugh and giggle as the blood rushes to your cheeks. You laugh anytime Daddy is in the room as long as you aren't tired. You are starting to cry when i leave the room, which makes it hard. I hold you all the time and won't let anyone near you because i miss you so much during the school day. Today you are getting your 6 month shots. You don't sleep through the night and last night you had a stomach ache and mommy only got 3 hours of sleep. We are still working with crawling. You hold your head up and sit on your knees but you have no desire to move. You know we will bring you any toy you want eventually. Mylo, please be patient with me as i adjust to having a new job and having you. I probably lose my patience sooner than i should, but i am just so tired all the time. I know it's not fair to you but i will be better soon. I love you! See you tonight! Mom

Firsts!!

Mylo has his first tooth! That could explain the awful week last week. He was dedicated today. We had family and friends there to support us. It was wonderful to feel so loved and supported in the job Micah and I have to raise our son and show him God's love. I am sorry to all those that couldn't attend it was adorable. Mylo slept through the dedication until the end. When Pastor Ed prayed Mylo snored and it was picked up on his mic all through church. School has been busy. This week Ed is in Georgia visiting his Grandbabies. Mylo is going to miss him but he will be loved on by all the people that volunteered to babysit (I think they're crazy).

5 month Fury

Dear Mylo,
You are 5 months old tomorrow! Mommy has a new job and has been very busy at school. You have a babysitter named Ed. You love Ed. Ed makes you giggle. You play together and cuddle on the floor. You have not cried and have loved every minute of being with Ed. You can roll over in any direction. Instead of crawling, I think you will just roll from room to room. You can hold your bottle yourself. You reach for me and your favorite toys. You smile at everyone you meet. You are such a happy baby. You went to your first Jubilee and football game. Soon you will start solid food. Every time i am eating or drinking you try to eat too. You tasted some cantaloupe at Aunt Pammy's picnic and loved it. You like helping mommy around the house. Today you folded laundry! I will be better at telling more about your day when i have settled into school and have more sleep! I love you! Mom

Oh my Gosh!!

Well, in the past week and a 1/2, Mylo has consistently rolled over EVERY time we lay him down. He has discovered his toes and holds them with both hands. Soon the piggies will be in his mouth. He has laughed at me. He has scooted on his belly across the jungle gym. We are still working on rolling from belly to back. He has tried some rice cereal before bed to help him sleep through the night. He figured out that was a trick and is still up atleast 2x a night. Today is his first full day at Ed's. As the tears roll down my cheeks, I know he will have a wonderful time. He will be loved on, played with, changed, fed, and cuddled. But it's not me doing the loving. It's hard. So, please be praying for me. I also changed jobs. I am teaching elementary spec. edu at Union Elementary. I am excited!

Mylo's 4 month Adventures

Dear Mylo,
I'm alittle late writing your 4 month letter. It could be because we've had a very busy month. You've been to Williamsburg, Va, Busch Gardens, Jamestown, Virginia Beach, and Audra State Park. You love chewing on your giraffes. Your 4 month appointment went well. You weighed 15 lbs and 11 oz. You were 26 inches long. I am getting ready to go back to school. We are practicing babysitting with Ed while i set-up my classroom.I've changed jobs. I am teaching spec. edu at Union elementary. You had a great time on vacation with Nick and Donna. Nick was your chew toy the whole week. I am not looking forward to going back to school because i will miss you so much. I know that i have to go to work but it will be a very hard adjustment. You can sit up. Sarah got you a Winnie the Pooh walker and you can barely touch on your tip toes, but you love sitting up by yourself. Bath time is fun! You kick your legs and wave your arms in the water. You've not slept through the night for the past five weeks. You usually eat at 3am and 6am. I am trying to put you on a schedule that will work with me going back to work. I hope you like it. Your favorite Aunts and Uncles are going to college next week and you will greatly miss them. Brittany and Katelyn will be at Fairmont State University, Ryan will be at WVU, Alexis will be at Marshall and Sarah will be at WVWC. I can't wait to see what you can do next month. love, mom

15 lb. 15 week old

Mylo is still congested and sounds like he has a been smoking for 15 years. I hope he is totally feeling better soon. He weighed 15lbs and 25 1/2 inches long at the doctor appt. The nurse couldn't believe he grew 3 in. in one month. He might be a giant but a cute giant. I am starting to prepare for vacation or at least thinking about packing. I am hoping to get a pool trip in before we go.

Selbyvilleoh8

We survived church camp! Mylo did great! He got very congested and starting coughing the last night so we came home a day early but he is starting to feel better. I totally packed every baby item we own to stay comfortably in a cabin. I'm talking a rug, rocking chair, pack n play, rain forest gym, stroller, toys and clothes. He was a happy camper!

Rolling Over, Check!

Mylo rolled over 2 days ago for the first time! Back to belly, minus a left arm. I always thought left arms were tricking. I wanted to attach a photo or video but he's very shy about rolling over. So, pics will be forthcoming. We are off to Selbyville, Wv for Christian Fellowship Church Camp. Mylo is busy packing his entire collection of baby maintenance items. I am hoping everything goes smoothly at camp. I just don't want him to be uncomfortable or the girls inconvenienced in any way. If we are, we will come home but i will miss camp. See you next week! Megan

3 Month Old Mylo

Dear Mylo,
You officially turned 3 months old on Monday! You weighed 14lbs 4 oz and are 25 inches long, which puts you in the 90th percentile. Good Job! I love you with all my heart. I know that sounds cliche' but i think it was coined by other parents. I still check to make sure you are breathing at night. I love seeing your smiling face in the morning. Some of your favorite things to do: 1. shake your rattle 2. pull your pacifier out of your mouth 3. Sitting up 4.playing on your tummy 5. talking and 6. reading books. You still despise diaper changes and burps that hurt. You haven't quite mastered rolling over but you will. You have new favorite toys: the decapitated frog mirror rattle and Ocho the Octopus. You've spent 2 nights in Morgantown while mom went to a teacher conference and played in the pool. By your next monthibirthday you will have been to Church Camp in selbyville with all of your Auntie's and Unclies and gone on vacation with your Godparents! It's a big month. Auntie Ann is coming in from Bogota to visit and spoil you as well. Your parents are contemplating your next baby contraption: the bouncer. Are you ready?

B'nana and Mylo the Fish

Mylo's first swim since his womb days. I am at a teacher conference at the Waterfront in Morgantown. So, we took a dip in the pool and tomorrow i hope to find some sushi. Banana came to help me with Mylo. This is also his first overnite stay away from Micah. He held and shook his rattle. I think he's ready for maracas.

Almost rolling over!

Mylo is 11 weeks old. He's an avid roller onto his side but we haven't quite mastered the over part. A work in progress. And i'm looking at all my pics of him and we take alot of him lying on his gym. He does move about the house. We go on walks, we just don't leave him on the floor all day but it seems that that is where all the action occurs. Mylo is talking more. I am almost ready to take him to the pool for the first time. It is scary that there is no shade. He will have sunscreen on, a hat and a swim shirt and shorts but he could get burnt. Nobody wants a burnt baby. As for me, I've been working on my classes and going to zumba 4 nights a week. Zumba is wonderful!

Those Fleshy Stubs have a Purpose!!

Mylo discovered the calling of his hands....to hit a duck that jingles. We're so proud!

Daddy's A Rock Star

Mylo can listen to Micah play for hours or until he gets hungry...either of them. Mylo's new trick is trying to stick his entire fist in his mouth. Mylo is one grading period old (9 weeks) in teacher talk. He has been to Walmart which i hate to admit. But it is better to expose him when he's young and Micah and I are there to guide him. I am taking 6 hours this summer so i get my Masters +30. I am not sure how it is going to work with a baby but he will adjust. I have a conference to go to on June 30-July 1st. It will be Mylo's first overnight in a hotel. We've not been out much recently due to the heat. He generates heat in his car seat so it makes taking walks difficult. He is talking more. He will smile anytime he is in a good mood and not studying his surroundings. On Sundays, I don't get to see him until the very end of church. I feel like i am socializing a puppy but a cute puppy.

Spewing Spawn

Micah and Mylo's widow peaks
So, Mylo had a reaction to one of his shots that involved spewing his entire stomach contents. I felt so bad for him. He, i guess felt better because he went right to sleep. Of course, i pulled all of the vaccine info out again to make sure it was a normal symptom but how could expelling all of your nutrition out of both ends be normal. He's so small, he doesn't have much in reserve.

Happy 2 Month Birthday, Mylo!!

Dear Mylo,
Happy 2 Month Birthday! You weigh 12lbs 6oz. Well let's see, you have slept through the night the last 2 weeks. You still like playing with the toucan, elephant, puppy and monkey. You have rolled over from your back to your side twice. You can hold your head up that would rival the best 4 mo olds. You talk when people talk to you. I don't know if you are complaining about your living environment or your parents. You smile at everyone who will smile first. You have been to: church, chip's house, Clarksburg, Fairmont, Morgantown, and both Grandma's houses. You have even been to Walmart. Today your got your 2mo shots. You did much better than I did. You were easily calmed with the gentle sway and yummy peacemaker. Your father and I have been to a movie (Prince Caspian) which was excellent. Every night i pray for your health, happiness, and courage. Mylo, you are going to do amazing things. Thanks for choosing me to get to be a part of them! Love, Mom

He looks like an Ewok from (Star Wars)

I am sorry but he is the cutest thing i have ever seen (words borrowed from Brittany), especially in this outfit!! Calvin the Cat was giving Mylo the once over at our memorial day festivities in Fairmont. He is still sleeping through the night. He's actually sleeping quite alot. I think he's growing which what babies do apparently.

Memorial Day Weekend!!

Mylo had quite the weekend! His Aunt Toni came in from New Orleans (pronounced New Orrlens for you Wv folk) to see him. We had a lovely lunch at CJ's and went to the quilt shop...Mylo slept. Toni has the neatest job. She is responsible for all of the artifacts in the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Next, Mylo went to Uncle Casey's graduation party where he slept, cried, played and was passed around to all the Patterson women-folk...he loved it. Micah and I got to play horseshoes or our attempt at horseshoes. Next, Mylo went to church and watched Uncle Chip say good bye to all our graduating youth. Mylo cried later that day in honor of all of graduating Aunties and Unclies ( it has to match aunties). The video of all of the kids baby pictures and embarrassing moments was wonderful. Mylo then spent the lunch hour in Deborah's (Rachel's) arms until we confiscated him to go to Grandma Vickie's. Micah and I went to the sun-scorching graduation that was on the turf in Buccaneer Stadium .....good job seniors, you've set a standard for all of the upcoming classes!! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful memory, and a not so nice sun burn but my mantra is "Anything for the class of 2008"!

Mylo in Da Hood!!

Bath time is fun time!
6 weeks, 5 days old.
Fists of Furry.

It was a fluke!!!

Mylo was testing my endurance. He wanted to flash a full nights sleep in my face to remind me of his ultimate power and control. I can't complain too much, he's only up once a night around 4. He rolled over on his side this morning. I laid him on his back in his rainforest gym. I got in the shower. I get out of the shower and he is on his side. And Stitch is not that helpful. I also saw in the Retched Delta that someone named their baby "Milo". Now, I know Micah and I picked a unique name but seeing him, he can't be named anything else. The imposter "milo" was born, 4 days after the original Mylo. I since a mole in the nursery at St. Joe's. Auntie Katelyn put Mylo to sleep on Chip's deck after a picnic. Also, Stitch is babysitting Mylo trying to redeem himself so he isn't booted to the outside.

Mylo Slept through the Night!!!!!

For the first time since........March, I have gotten a full nights sleep! Mylo slept through the night for the first time. I wasn't really sure if he did or not, but i knew when i was really ready to feed him in the morning. As you can see, he can hold himself up for moments at a time. Our little spawn is growing up. His new favorite is a toucan on his gym. He knows all of his vowels but his favorite is "a" and the consonant "g". He's grown out of his first pajamas. His hair is filling in on top in a blonde, auburn color. He's almost he's ready for a Mohawk......it could be a couple of years actually.

6 weeks old!!!

Mylo is weighing in a 11 lbs. 8oz. He is 22 and 1/2 inches long. He's gained 2 pounds in 2 weeks. We are going to turn our backyard into a sumo wrestler training sanctuary....parents will do anything for their kids. I need to get the little man some jeans. He can't wear his matching Penguins jersey with Daddy until he has some jeans because he is so not wearing the goalie pants that came on the bear with the jersey. Some Mylo quirks: He always hiccups when he lays down. He has 2 new favorites: Orange Monkey and Blue puppy. In the picture he is in his rain forest gym, we've got to work on those chubby legs...poor kids has his mother's legs.

Pressley's Revenge

Well the 2008 Strawberry Festival went as planned...cold and rainy. Mylo took in the Jr. Royalty parade, the B-U Band during the Fireman's parade, the Grand Feature parade, the Strawberry Desert Show Choir Spectacular, Ryan's graduation party and Strawberry pancakes at the Methodist church. He is only waking up once a night around 4:00 am to eat. He will be a little fussy every once in a while when he is fighting sleep and/or has gas. He is 6 weeks old and has grown out of his first pajamas. In the picture Pressley Bug is discovering the sleeping baby...but Mylo isn't in the mood for flirting...so cute.

Baby Dreams

What could he possibly be dreaming about? A warm wipe at diaper time? A chest for dinner? A cuddly blue elephant that swings? I don't know but i know it is adorable. I am going to have a "Thinker" on my hands!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Mylo My Love!

Mylo is really smiling! Everyone says, oh it's gas...I don't think so! He will look at Micah and really smile. Mylo and I got 7 hours of sleep last night, he only woke up once to eat. Today, he is exercising his right to witness voting, what a good American!

Stitch Had it Coming!

Mylo is 5 weeks old on Monday! Happy Mother's Day to me! He has started to put anything in his mouth that comes in contact with his face. I call it the "Mandy Gollaher Affect". Explanation....Mandy was a friend in college from New York. She would open her mouth anytime something was in stuck in reaching distance. For example, straws, fingers, random bits of string would be placed near her manible and she would just open her mouth...she knew this quirk about her but couldn't help it. Funny!

Weasel Nose

When Micah was little he has a picture of rug burn on his nose. When his mom asked him what happened to his nose, he said," I was being a weasel". This is Mylo's tribute to being a weasel.

Happy 1 Month Birthday!!

Dear Mylo,
Today you are 4 weeks old! You weighed 9lbs 13oz. Congratulations on gaining a whole pound. It is hard to believe that you have been in my arms for 1 month. Your favorites: the blue hippo on the swing ( i think its actually an elephant..shh), belly time with Daddy, breakfast, lunch and dinner x3, and crossing your beautiful blue eyes. Your dislikes: diaper changes, baths, and the stupidness of your new parents trying to figure out what you need. You can hold your head up totally by yourself for minutes. You have no patience for the hiccups, yawning or burping.
I am starting to feel more confident that i can be a parent....hopefully a good one. You smile when I kiss your cheek so i know i am doing something right. Your Grammies are wrapped around your pinky and big toe. You have been on walks to the riverwalk, to the mall, Aunt Robin's house and church....but not walmart. Micah and I talk daily about new faces you've made or how your nap went or didn't, and little tricks we are learning, like when you are going to pee you put your legs together, when you are really mad you flail your arms and your leg twitches. I can't wait to see what you can do at 2 months...With all my love, Mom (Ahh! I'm a mom)
